Seasonal readiness means that the offer advertised to customers matches what they can actually buy, from the start of the promotion through its retirement. A banner and a discount code are not sufficient. You need eligible products, approved prices and terms, tested purchase paths and a named owner for removing expired promises.
Treat the season as a bounded store release rather than a complete relaunch. Define what changes and what remains stable, and separate implementation from daily fulfilment. Salla store development can cover agreed product, interface and test work; it does not automatically include running inventory and fulfilment for the merchant during the campaign.
Begin with one approved offer sheet
Record the offer, included products or categories, exclusions, start and end times with a time zone, usage limits and any shipping implications. Name the price approver and the owner of customer-facing terms and any required specialist review. An available platform setting does not establish that a discount meets applicable commercial or regulatory obligations.
Salla documents configurable coupon periods, usage limits and eligible items. Match the proposed offer to the actual account before producing all campaign assets. Salla custom-coupon guide.
Keep a dated approved version. When a condition changes during preparation, review the advertisement, landing page and coupon together. Altering a purchase threshold in the store without updating the message creates a customer-visible contradiction, even if each team independently completed its task.
Reconcile four expressions of the same offer
| Location | Information to reconcile | Approval owner |
|---|---|---|
| Ad or message | Promise and important exclusions | Marketing and offer owner |
| Campaign page | Products, period and redemption instructions | Content team and merchant |
| Product page and basket | Price, option and actual availability | Product owner |
| Checkout | Applied rule and final amount | Merchant and tester |
Within landing page design, make the primary action clear, product links accurate and decision-relevant terms readable on mobile. Do not make customers discover a material exclusion after entering all their details. If promoted stock becomes unavailable, identify who changes the page and advertisement without presenting a different item as though it were the original offer.
Decide whether the campaign destination is a collection, a particular product or a dedicated page. Each has a different maintenance burden. A collection that can change automatically still needs an owner checking that every displayed item remains within the approved promise.
Worked hypothetical example: a gift promotion
This example supports planning and testing; it is not a live commercial offer. A merchant selects ten eligible gift sets and leaves two made-to-order sets outside the offer. The approved promotion discounts eligible products by 20% for a specified period. An illustrative eligible item priced at SAR 200 becomes SAR 160 after the product discount alone; this calculation excludes shipping and tax treatment.
The trial begins with the eligible product alone, then an excluded item, then a mixed basket. The team defines the intended result for each according to the supported offer rule. If actual behaviour contradicts the promise, the merchant changes the offer or chooses another verified configuration before advertising, rather than asking the design to conceal the difference.
The team also checks an unavailable option, an old advertisement link and attempted code use after the end time. A discount working during preparation is insufficient. Customers should understand that the offer has ended and still be able to continue at the approved current price without misleading messaging. Test orders are reconciled and closed through the permitted process.
Use a release sequence rather than memory
Sequence the work: approve data, configure the store, review the page, test the transaction, obtain offer-owner approval, then begin advertising. Paid campaign strategy and management covers media, controlled budgets and tracking within its agreed scope. Spend should not begin merely because creative files are finished while checkout remains unaccepted.
Name who can pause activity if incorrect prices or unfulfillable products appear. The person controlling advertisements may not be authorised to change prices; the store employee may not control advertising copy. Establish a contact who assembles the evidence and routes decisions to the appropriate owner.
Keep a record of launch changes. If someone updates stock, terms or an offer rule after testing, identify the affected evidence and rerun the relevant cases. A last-minute adjustment should not inherit acceptance from a different configuration.
Test boundaries, not only the easiest purchase
Software quality assurance should include eligible and excluded cases, before-start and after-end behaviour, and any applicable minimum or usage limit. Where other promotions are active, test interaction rather than assuming an order of application from memory.
Start from the mobile campaign link and continue through the resulting order. Compare product, colour, quantity and amount. Record the tested configuration and repeat affected checks when it changes. The practical aim is a consistent offer, not a large test count that misses its edge conditions.
Prepare retirement before launch
Specify what happens to banners, pages, coupons, links and queued messages when the offer ends. Do not remove a page reached by old advertisements without deciding its destination and message. An extension is a new commercial decision requiring approval and consistent updates, not a consequence of forgetting to switch something off.
After retirement, review the campaign using interpretable data. Separate test and cancelled orders from the appropriate outcome definition. Do not attribute every sales change to design when price, stock and spend changed simultaneously.
Common traps include producing creative before settling eligibility, displaying an old discount beside a new price, assuming exclusions are obvious, and assigning campaign closure vaguely to “the team.” These are coordination failures that a simple release record can make visible.
Frequently asked questions
Does every season require a full redesign?
Usually a bounded change is sufficient when the existing structure is suitable. Scope the work around the offer and journey, not the desire to replace every page for an occasion.
Can ads begin before testing finishes?
Do not make that the default. Purchase-path, price and condition checks are practical prerequisites before sending paid traffic to an offer.
Does the developer verify discount legality?
That is not assumed in development. The merchant approves pricing and terms and obtains applicable qualified review. Technical configuration is not a compliance certificate.
Who removes the offer when it ends?
A named owner in the release plan, with backup and confirmation steps. Do not leave retirement as an undefined shared responsibility across design, media and store teams.
A useful next step
Prepare the offer sheet, eligible-product list and owners. Request an advertisement-to-order trial and retirement plan before producing the rest of the seasonal assets.
